Pakistani lawyers
One of the professions with the highest healing potential is law. While medicine heals the body, religion heals the soul. the law heals societal rifts and therefore lawyers aid in the creation of a peaceful society.
The poet and philosopher Sir Allama Muhammad Iqbal, first PM of Pakistan, Liaqat Ali Kan, and many others, have been shedding light on the legal and constitutional background of Pakistan.
Now, the issue that lingers in our minds is whether this is the Pakistan which was dreamed of by our founding fathers , wherein the noble profession they adopted that entrusted freedom, democratic norms, security and justice to the people is now sustaining an environment in which the law’s protectors face threats to their lives as well as their liberty?
I’m sure that the answer will be a negative, unintentionally. As a lawyer in Karachi Pakistan I’ve witnessed firsthand how the daily life of a lawyer is affected by Osmani Law death threats and violence.
In the past several years, lawyers from Pakistan have been subjected to terror attacks of mass scale such as murder, attempted murder, assaults (death) threats, contempt proceedings, harassment
As in judicial harassment as well as torture in detention, merely for engaging in their legal profession. Some lawyers have had their family members killed or have been assaulted.
Terrorists targeted Karachi Pakistan on August 8th, 2016, in Karachi Pakistan. They used suicide bombing and shot to attack the Government Hospital of Quetta. 56 lawyers were killed and 92 more were injured. Lawyers are frequently associated with clients or their causes and are often targeted violently. Particularly in relation to accusations against blasphemy. This often exposes both the person being accused as well the lawyers that represent them, and judges who make their decisions to harassment, threats, and violence.
The life of an “advocate” is at Osmani law from the moment the lawyer accepts a case. It doesn’t matter who the opposing party is or which party the lawyer has been assigned to provide justice. Making a decision, going through sleepless nights and then enduring endless harassment is now a norm in Pakistan.
Lawyers cannot influence the decisions of judges any more than they are able to present the facts in the best manner they can. Though the majority of these crimes of violence arise out of the cases lawyers deal with, there is no law that shields them from such crimes.

Particularly, over the last few weeks, the gut-wrenching instances of murders of lawyers and violence against them have become a common occurrence and have been increasing unchecked on a daily basis.
In the span of a few days the advocates of more than five were killed, as well as a variety of murders took place. This shocked the legal community that fights for the Rule of Law and Supremacy of the Constitution.
